Who we are

We are Dreamers! We are Givers! We are Believers! We are Freedom Dancers!
We are The Creatives Bhaag (TCB), a for purpose company that specialises in showcasing the work of talented artists and musicians from across Africa and beyond. We invite international artists to collaborate with African artists to create memorable and educational opportunities to promote cross-cultural diversity and majorly, social change. We truly believe many forms of art is purely imitation of life, and what a better way to enhance life; by creating opportunities for a diverse audience to act as catalysts to social change.

The Word ‘Bhaag’ means ‘Garden’ in Urdu, and at TCB, we take pride in collaborating with creatives and pool them into the creatives garden, where we commonly work to achieve the shared vision!
TCB is an initiative birthed from an idea and passion to create answers to how creative visualisation and sound can have positive impact on the society that can bring about social change. An idea that can heal the sick, that can resonate with one’s beliefs, that can help love and accept oneself as Music and art are powerful tools as they have the ability to transcend language and cultural barriers and inspire people to work toward a more just and equitable society.

Why we root for Instrumental music!

Instrumental music allows for emotional expression without relying on lyrics. This enables listeners to interpret and connect with the music in their own unique ways.

We have witnessed and have guests come up to us and share their experience from our previous tour that the live events have helped them in various activities such as studying, working, healing, and relaxing. Our collaborations with the artists have served as an inspiration to them.

We further witness that instrumental compositions showcase the creativity and skills of artists highlighting their mastery of instruments and composition techniques.

We truly believe in Instrumental music playing a significant role in preserving culture and heritage and the inclusivity enables artists to engage with our audience by:

1. Spreading Tradition: Instrumental music often carries cultural and historical significance, passing down traditions and stories from one generation to another without the need for words.

2.Preserving Authenticity: Instrumental compositions can authentically capture the essence of a culture’s musical style, maintaining its originality and uniqueness over time.

3.Cultural Identity: Instrumental music can serve as a strong symbol of cultural identity, reinforcing a sense of belonging and pride among a community.

4.Documentation: Through instrumental compositions, cultural practices, rituals, and historical events can be documented and remembered, ensuring that important aspects of heritage aren’t lost. The Creatives Bhaag  has documented the previous tour, showcasing the importance of instrumental music.

5.Global Recognition: Instrumental music allows cultures to share their heritage on a global scale, fostering cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

6.Educational Tool: Instrumental music provides a way to educate younger generations about their cultural roots and history, creating a bridge between past and present.

7.Inspiration for New Creations: Contemporary artists can draw inspiration from instrumental pieces rooted in tradition, leading to the creation of new works that continue to evolve cultural heritage. In the case of the very talented Khumariyaan Band, who drive their inspiration from their roots deeply balmed in rich culture and heritage.

8.Preserving Diverse Musical Forms: Different cultures often have unique instrumental forms that might not be easily translatable into words. Preserving these forms ensures the diversity of global music traditions.

9.Cultural Resilience: In the face of globalization and cultural homogenization, instrumental music stands as a testament to a culture’s resilience and commitment to preserving its distinct identity.

Instrumental music serves as a powerful vessel for preserving, celebrating, and transmitting cultural heritage, allowing traditions to thrive across generations and geographical boundaries acting as catalyst to Social change.
